Welcome to my Web !

But first a health warning: If you are one of those that cares not a jot that your poetry neither rhymes nor scans, it may be that you should click on 'Exit' , quick - this is not the page for you. Then again, if you are a stickler for strict meter and exactly matching sounds, perhaps you should bunk, too. It was Somerset Maughan who said, 'There are three fundamental rules to writing: The only trouble is that no one can remember them.' Should poetry - should any art - be constrained by rules? On the other hand, is this liberation, so abundant today, being used as an excuse for what is just ill conceived, sloppy work?

If you have a point of view, then please stay and say it - I'll welcome that. Or if you want to hear my point of view or dip into some of my poems - stay and I'll love you for that!

Click 'My Shout' if you want to read my views - and no prizes for anyone who notes that the background gif is all hot air balloons! - or to enter the debate. Or, if you're not interested in my views (and no one will blame you for that) but want to know who this upstart is, click 'C.V' : And if you're not interested in my views, couldn't care less who I am but would like to see what my poetry is all about, then flatter me - click on 'Contents'.

There's a third choice, too. If you're not interested in my views, in who I am or even in my poetry, there's a button called 'Exit' which, thoughtfully I feel, I have put not only at the bottom of this page, but also at the bottom of every page in this site: Think of it as your communication cord - there's no fine for pulling it, but like the Gypsy woman from whom you have just turned down a bunch of white heather, I will be remembering you in my prayers!

The 'Visitors Book' follows last. Please feel free to scribble in it and put your comments: But whilst this page is intended to provoke debate, never-the-less, please remember Netiquette, trying not to flame or to cause offence to anyone - especially me! I shall be pleased to read and hoist on board all that is writ. In it, too, I will from time to time paste some 'Links', pages that I have enjoyed and I hope you will enjoy, too.
