(At Ballybunion, there is not only a fine golf course but, also, in the square, a statue
of Bill Clinton, who played golf there.)
BALLYBUNION
Here, on Ballybunion's links,
Where the wind blows in across the sea,
Direct from Pennsylvania,
The President lines up his put and thinks
Of Monica Lewinski, just one more time,
Then eschews his past sex mania.
But all the contours of that lush and verdant green,
Recall the curves he's sworn on oath he's never seen,
And like some awful, tantalising, dream,
The putt runs past the hole ..
Everyone goes, 'Ohhh!'; and there,
And then, a Leprechaun in mirth suggest,
They put his statue in the Square .
.In mem'ry of his failure.
